Atty. Krishna, our Senior Data Privacy Consultant, is a Data Privacy advocate. She is a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional – Europe (CIPP/E) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the first organization to publicly establish standards in professional education and testing for privacy and data protection around the world.
As a CIPM, Atty. Krishna is certified to take a lead on operationalizing privacy policies and administration of privacy program of an organization. She is trained and certified to implement a privacy program’s day-to-day operations, to create a company data privacy vision, to structure a data protection team, to develop and implement system frameworks, to communicate to stakeholders, and to measure performance by maintaining and managing a privacy program across all stages of its life cycle.
As a CIPP/E, Atty Krishna studied the the data privacy laws and regulations of Europe, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), she also gained a foundational understanding of broad global concepts of privacy and data protection law and practice, including: jurisdictional laws, regulations and enforcement models; essential privacy concepts and principals; legal requirements for handling and transferring data.
She gained data privacy knowledge, training, skills and experience through her employment with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) where she was a former Attorney III of the Enforcement Division, OIC-Chief of the Enforcement Division and Attorney II of the Compliance and Monitoring Division.
She was also the NPC’s former Policy Adviser for the Retail and Manufacturing Sector and was awarded the Best Policy Adviser in the NPC’s Employee’s Awards on 2019.
She was also the awarded as the NPC’s Best Lawyer and Best Data Privacy Practitioner during the 2021 NPC PRAISE (Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence).
Atty. Krishna is also DPA trainer who conducted trainings and workshops on the Data Privacy Act of 2012, assisting the National Privacy Commission on its Data Privacy Awareness Projects and its DPO ACE Program.
